In 2014, we celebrated our 30th year of helping polio survivors in Nebraska and beyond. Nancy Baldwin Carter founded NPSA in 1984 as the first state-wide polio survivors organization of its kind.

The mission of Nebraska Polio Survivors Association is to educate the public and the health care community concerning polio and post-polio syndrome and to respond to the needs of individuals who suffer from the syndrome through group meetings, educational programming and newsletters, financial and other support of research concerning the syndrome and the circulation of research results.

We publish and distribute a bimonthly newsletter, Gleanings, to more than 800 polio survivors, friends and medical professionals throughout the United States and in Canada. The current and past issues of Gleanings can be found by clicking on the Newsletters link at the top of the page.

This website also contains links to many polio resources, which you can select from links on the left.
